Vancouver Folk Music Festival

Vancouver - Possibly the world's best view from a Folk Festival?

We stayed on the University of British Columbia campus - where Clare spotted this sign

Every morning people queue (sorry, 'stand in line') for several hours to be the first through the gates and get the good spots for the evening concert.
There are two sorts of people in line - the 'runners' who sprint - and the 'mules' who carry all the baggage!

Stage 2: in the shade - bliss, as the sun was scorching all weekend.
There were 7 day-time stages, and one evening stage - so a huge variety of music.

Pretty good cycle parking - and considerably more than the Cambridge Folk Festival has.
Sunday afternoon - stretched out and waiting for the evening concert

At the end of each evening concert, dozens of volunteers lit lanterns to guide people out of the Festival site.
Just some of the lantern crew - all swaying with the music. They had been processing in groups through the crowds.
